One of the great pleasures in vacationing is shopping in a brand new place. You can return home with new and exotic merchandise that you can’t get at home. Either pack lightly, or buy another suitcase for your wears. It’s time to go shopping!
1. New York: 5th Avenue and 34th St.
We are going to declare a tie, because if you’re going to one, you really should go to the other shopping district in New York.
5th Avenue is so famous for its luxury shopping that several retailers even mention the address in their name: Saks on 5th Avenue, for example. There’s even a whole website devoted to that shopping area.
5th Avenue has every kind of shop you can imagine: Saks, Swarovski, Abercrombie, Harry Winston, Dolce and Gabbana, just to name a few. There aren’t all ‘luxury’ shops, though, as you’ll find lots of mass market chains like Payless shoes as well.
On 34th Street is the world famous flagship store for Macys, which they proclaim is the world’s largest store. Then, there’s also tons of shops like Sephora, H&M and others. It’s worth the trip just to see the history of Macy’s famous building.
2. Encore Esplanade
Where: Las Vegas, Nevada
Most Las Vegas Resorts will have shopping malls attached. Since the Encore (and the Wynn) are luxury resorts, the shopping district located inside their resort is also full of luxury shops. There’s even a Ferrari dealership located in the mall, if you decide to drive out of Las Vegas in style.
Other stores include Chanel, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Brioni, and Dior (just to name a few).
The Wynn/Encore also offers personal shopping services for hotel guests.
